Concert education

Cornelia Walther studied instrumental pedagogy, artistic education and master in orchestral music in cello at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen and the Academy of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main. From 2005 to 2007 she was at the Colosseum Theater Essen and in the season 2011/2012 in the orchestra of Staatstheater Darmstadt. From 2008 to 2011 she was a permanent member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and since 2013 she regularly guest appears in the Museum and Opera Orchestra Frankfurt, as well as the Staatsorchester Mainz and Darmstadt. Since the season 2017/2018 she is engaged as a freelance musician at the Schauspiel Gießen.

In 2015 she co-founded ensemble reflektor, a chamber music ensemble in chamber orchestra size, which mainly acquires young people that are not used to classical music and especially in places like Gruenspan Club on Hamburgs famous Reeperbahn.

In addition, she is active in the cultural management area for the Chamber Music Festival Sylt and the concert series MUSICA + and heads the Children's Concerts / Education department. Furthermore, Cornelia Walther works as a cello pedagogue and as a studio cellist in the Frankfurt area involved in the development of the film music of several short and feature films.
